Alison is a clinical Art Therapist/Psychotherapist specializing in individual, groups, couples and family therapy, and maintains a private practice in the Portland, Maine region. She is a Master’s level professional who holds a degree in art therapy/ clinical psychology. Alison also earned Bachelors Degrees in Special Education and Elementary Education.

Alison is credentialed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LCPC), Art Therapist, Licensed Special Educator (K-12), and Elementary School teacher (K-6). She has taught grades 2-6, 9-12. She has been privileged to work professionally with children, older persons, groups, and families of all mental health and developmental needs since 1994.Experience
Alison has experience as a clinical Art Therapist in inpatient and outpatient treatment facilities, residential housing, day treatment programs, and Psychiatric Hospitals. Additional experience includes intensive and restrictive special education, resource rooms, teaching graduate school and art, curriculum development, and meeting national educational standards. Alison’s Masters level thesis was on the viewer experience and interaction of art, specifically “Outdoor Sculpture and Viewer Experience.” Her specific interest as a clinician and artist is the exchange of artist-media-viewer.Nouveau Studio, LLC
Alison’s art studio, Nouveau Studio, LLC, is shared with art therapy clients as a professional, creative, and therapeutic space. Her artwork as been featured in juried art shows and galleries across the nation and collected internationally. Alison chooses to spend the rest of her time creating art in Nouveau Studio, LLC, furthering her clinical education and studies, and playing.
